Symptom:
In rare cases the installation of X550 or X350 cards may result in partial functionality upon install. The X-series stations may not start and all screens remain black or freeze at "Station Stopped, Waiting to Start". These errors are generally due to hostPC resources that are being blocked by other functions. These errors may happen on single card or dual card installs. Please see attached PDF for more information and screen shots that detail the following summary.
Cause:
There are three main identifiable causes of the above issue, listed in order of likely occurrence.
1.     IRQ conflict (or lack of open IRQ ports) When the PC begins to initialize it will assign devices IRQs, in some cases the PC will run out of IRQs which will prevent a terminal from starting. Examples of devices that commonly cause IRQ conflicts are:
§  LPT1 Port
§  Serial Port
§  Intelreg; Remote PC Assist Technology - SOL (COM3)
§  Intelreg; Active Management Technology - SOL (COM3)
Solution:

This is usually resolved by disabling the Serial and Parallel (LPT1) ports in the system BIOS. In addition to the aforementioned, if any Intel branded technologies is running over the COM3 port they must be
disabled in the Device Manager.

For example, to disable Intel Active Management Technology:
1) Enter BIOS Setup by pressing [F2] during boot.
2) Go to the Intel ME menu.
3) Set Manageability Feature to None.
4) Exit and save changes [F10].

Notes: This solution has been primarily seen on Intel based Dell and HP
systems that load a maximum number of IRQ requests, including the Intel
utilities.

2. Incomplete Driver Installation The device has a yellow question mark or escalation mark next to it in Device Manager.

Solution
Check the Device Manager to see if the X550 drivers were not installed
correctly (the device will have a yellow question mark next to it).

3. 3rd Party software conflictAnti-virus software sometimes prevents or modify essential system files, which limits station connectivity.

Solution
The third cause is often the result of an Anti-virus preventing or modifying
essential system files, which limits station connectivity.
  • In most cases, disabling the antivirus and reinstalling the X-series
  • VSpace software with enable full functionality.
  • In a limited number of cases full removal of the AV app is required before installation of vSpace (the AV app can be reinstalled after successful installation of the vSpace software). Kaspersky 8.0, Computer Associates and Sophos are examples of these.
  • In a small amount of cases, certain Antivirus cannot be used in conjunction with our product.
